In 2001 Drainworld purchased some waste land in Taupo Quay (closer to town). The site was cleared, fenced and sealed, and a warehouse and offices were built. The yard allows for two truck and trailer units to be in the yard at the same time, as well as a number of smaller vehicles.
On the 1st of April 2002, Drainworld started operations from the new premises.
In 2004, Drainworld employed Jan Farrow as Manager to manage the upsurge in business due to the Wanganui Waste-Water Separation contract. Eighteen months later Tahu Skedgwell joined the team as sales, delivery driver and yardman. Shortly afterwards Chris Mackay was employed as sales/admin. Most recently, completing the team is Elaine Girven who now handles the administration work.
A reseller’s formal agreement was signed between Drainworld and Humes Pipeline Systems in 2005. This allowed both companies to expand their presence in the Wanganui region. Whilst Drainworld is focused primarily in this region, we can assist others outside the region through our association with Humes.
Drainworld specialises in drainage and watermain supplies. It also can provide tanks and troughs, geotextiles, cast iron covers and grates, epoxies and many other products. Click here to view our products.
